We will be focusing on the early italian works Handel wrote as a young man and will be taking advantage of the world class continuo team and solo violinist from the Freiburger Barockorchester to explore the chamber music nature of this repertoire. 

Exquisite solo continuo cantatas, soprano arias with obbligato violin and vocal duets form the core of the course.

Cost for the week is €180.  This includes access to all the performances in the International Handel Festspiele which happens concurrently.  

During the week there will be an open workshop and it will close with a concert.

I teach privately at my studio in Berlin Friedrichshagen working with professional, semi-professional and enthusiastic amateur singers of all ages.

Singing Masterclasses

I have given masterclasses covering a wider range of repertoire at institutions such as the Moscow Conservatory, Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Music Theatre and Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow as well as Geidai University for the Fine Arts in Tokyo, Senzoku Gakuen University in Kawasaki, the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester and Royal College of Music in London.  In December 2016 I gave a workshop at The Sage in Gateshead.

 

In 2011 I was invited to be the Honorary Visiting Singing Professor at Leeds College of Music where I have given regular masterclasses and workshops including a flash mob concert of semi-staged scenes from Purcell's "King Arthur".
